Location Overview:
Located in Chester, known for its culture, history, and beauty, our office offers a global career within a renowned organization, set against the scenic North Wales hills and the River Dee.
The Team:
The FICC Business Finance & Control team is part of the GBAM CFO Group, focusing on control and advisory functions related to P&L, balance sheet, and valuation controls, supporting the EMEA Credit business involved in Credit Products like CDS and Bonds. The team collaborates with trading desks, valuation groups, risk, legal, and support functions. The team promotes employee engagement and diversity initiatives.
The Role:
* Support the EMEA Credit BFC team in financial control, P&L, balance sheet, valuation, and regulatory interactions.
* Calculate and analyze valuation controls, including IPV and valuation adjustments, and manage quarterly disclosures.
* Collaborate with GVG to review and improve valuation methodologies and ensure documentation accuracy.
* Streamline and enhance BFC processes, participate in system development, and automate processes.
* Work with the Accounting Policy Group to implement accounting policies and procedures.
* Support governance and internal control processes, including SOX compliance.
What We Look For:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or CFA with solid accounting knowledge.
* Experience in a similar financial services/banking role.
* Strong understanding of accounting concepts.
* Proficient Excel skills.
