Directorate

Our Student Life Service is our front-line service where our students can access high quality advice, guidance, and support on a range of university, money, and welfare matters.

The Student Life Service provides a wide range of financial advice including student funding, assessing applications for hardship support, and providing guidance on welfare benefits. The Student Life Service also provides support with a range of pastoral issues such as domestic violence, forced marriage, homelessness, and other broader welfare issues.

What you will be doing:

1. Acting as the first point of contact for all enquiries into the Student Life Service, the Student Life Generalist Adviser acts as the triage point for the Student Life Service, ensuring that the Student Life Specialist Advisers are able to retain capacity for complex and risk associated cases.
2. Providing initial advice and guidance relating to statutory and discretionary student financial support, including reviewing of hardship fund applications, ensuring appropriate and sufficient information and evidence has been received

Qualifications/ experience:

3. A good standard of education including English and Maths Level 2 or equivalent qualification
4. Experience of providing customer service in a student support setting, or in a customer care environment.

Additional Information:

Please note, as this role is part of our frontline student support team, the successful candidate will be required to work on campus for most of the working week with limited scope for working remotely.
