Job Description
This role involves leading the development of GM’s Motorsports aero-thermal applications, including CFD modeling, visualization, and analysis. The position requires technical leadership, project contributions, and experience in scalable cloud systems. The engineer will work closely with the aerodynamics team to identify and implement solutions that give GM a competitive edge in motorsports.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a team of developers in implementing and maintaining aero-thermal applications.
2. Design solution architectures and lead team consensus on technical approaches.
3. Focus on modern application design, code quality, and modular frameworks.
4. Collaborate with the aerodynamics team to identify value gaps and develop solutions.
5. Resolve technical blockers and ensure smooth delivery milestones.
6. Manage Scrum story delivery and contribute to playbooks, interfaces, and deployment processes.
7. Support team collaboration and ensure reliable, self-managed delivery.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
* Expertise in CFD systems, microservices, or data streaming platforms.
* Experience with full stack application development and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* At least 5 years of microservices development experience.
* Hands-on web services design and development (2+ years).
* Knowledge of containerization tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
* Understanding of best practices in software development, DevOps, and CI/CD.
* Experience working in an agile environment.
Desired Skills
* Masters degree in a technical discipline.
* Exposure to aerodynamics engineering and AI/ML.
* Experience with VR frameworks, data streaming tech, and cross-platform development.
* Leadership and architecture experience.
* Knowledge of data serialization and system models.
* Passion for Motorsports and high-pace environments.
