NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia to work within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. These posts will be based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. These posts are currently available and we would welcome applications from the UK, EU and Non EU Doctors.

These posts will offer a balanced mixture of elective and emergency work. During the week the successful candidates will work in Theatre and their job plan will be structured according to their specific interests and departmental needs. The successful candidates will be encouraged to take part in teaching and audit and will also be required to participate in the out of hours rota. The department is committed to continuing education and training of all staff and encourage active participation in clinical governance.

The post holder will also be required to support with 1 ON emergency cover and this includes facilitating inter-hospital transfers off site of both level 2 and level 3 patients requiring escalation of care.

You will be expected to have full GMC registration, a license to practice and a minimum of 4 years’ (full time or equivalent) Postgraduate training, of which at least 2 years’ training must be within Anaesthesia. Possession of the FRCA part 1 is desirable.

Applicants who have not undertaken a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date, will be asked to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST). The CREST form must be completed by a consultant who has worked with you for a minimum continuous period of three months whole-time equivalent wholly within the 3.5 years prior to the advertised post start date for which you are applying.
