Key Responsibilities as a Primary/Secondary Teacher:
As a Primary/Secondary Teacher in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, you will be part of an alternative education provision supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. This is a deeply rewarding but challenging role, ideal for someone resilient, resourceful, and passionate about transforming lives through education.
In this King’s Lynn-based Primary/Secondary Teacher role, you will:
Teach small groups of students with complex needs, using creativity and adaptability.
Develop tailored schemes of work and lesson plans that reflect each pupil’s needs and interests.
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and supported.
Collaborate with families, carers, and external agencies to reduce barriers to learning.
Monitor progress, assess outcomes, and report in line with school policies.
Provide pastoral care alongside educational delivery, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing and development.
Lead classroom behaviour management with consistency, care, and structure.
Prepare off-site learning materials and support inclusive, flexible education pathways.
Primary/Secondary Teacher Skills & Requirements:
We are looking for a committed and experienced Primary/Secondary Teacher in King’s Lynn, Norfolk who brings:
A strong track record of teaching in alternative or SEN settings (preferred).
Experience supporting children with emotional regulation and challenging behaviours.
Flexibility, reliability, and the resilience to manage emotionally demanding situations.
Deep understanding of the National Curriculum and personalised learning approaches.
Knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, equality, and behavioural frameworks.
Confidence in behaviour management and applying trauma-informed practice.
An inclusive, empathetic, and team-focused mindset.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
You will need to be able to plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons that inspire students to re-engage with learning in a nurturing but high-expectation environment.
