Job Description The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Lincoln Memorial University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Physics. The candidate must have earned a PhD in Physics or an appropriate related discipline by the time of appointment. Primary teaching responsibilities may include lecture and lab sections for Introduction to Physics, General Physics I & II, Calculus Based Physics I & II, Introduction to Electronics, and/or other courses (e.g., Programming) based on interests and credentials. The faculty member will have the primary responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service in support of the University, School, and Department missions. To ensure a smooth transition into our academic community, the successful candidate will participate in LMU’s New Faculty Academy. Additionally, during their first year, the new faculty member will enjoy moderated scholarship and service expectations while receiving guidance and support from a faculty mentor assigned by the department Required Qualifications Earned PhD in Physics or appropriate related discipline; *educational preparation in accordance with requirements of the University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and *evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity.
