The business is a leading, family-run business delivering excellence in civil engineering, demolition and site preparation. As the business continues to grow, it is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Management and Financial Accountant to strengthen the finance team and support strategic decision-making. Role Overview As the Management and Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in providing timely and accurate financial information, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and enhancing financial control across the business. You will work closely with both operational and senior leadership teams to drive performance and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Management Accounting Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Analyse performance vs budget/forecast, providing insightful commentary Maintain cost centre reporting and assist operational teams with financial queries Assist with annual budget setting and periodic re-forecasts Financial Accounting Support statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries Monitor fixed asset register and depreciation schedules Cash Flow & Controls Prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts Support treasury and cash management activities Assist in enhancing and maintaining financial controls and processes Business Support & Projects Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial accuracy of job costing Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting tools, and dashboards Support ad hoc analysis and business case development Skills & Experience Required Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role (construction or engineering sector advantageous) Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, COINS, or similar) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills On Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Professional development and training support Friendly and inclusive team environment Opportunity to make a real impact in a growing, dynamic business Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
