Summary: From our Head Office to the shop floor and everywhere in between our primary goal is to create and deliver a fantastic customer journey for everyone who shops at Lidl. Your role will be varied working across different shift times, tasks and with different colleagues.
What does a normal day as a Customer Assistant look like? There’s no such thing as “normal” in retail, but we’ve tried our best!
Note: As a Customer Assistant you are required to sell alcohol, therefore you must be 18 or over to work in our store.
Shift Patterns
* Morning shift: Starting at 5am or 6am with your team, stock the shop floor and bakery products to open time.
* Middle shift: Starting mid-morning or early afternoon, keep the store clean and presentable, help customers with queries on the shop floor and work on tills to minimise queues.
* Late shift: Afternoon start, serve customers on tills, restock missing items and prepare the store for the next day.
What you'll do
* Interacting with the customer in a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner
* Ensuring stock loss controls are followed in all areas of the store
* Maintaining store and external cleanliness and hygiene standards
* Following freshness and rotation principles
* Ensuring all waste is managed correctly
* Assisting in the stock count process
What you'll need
* A can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills
* The willingness to go the extra mile for our customers
* To be responsible and reliable
* To enjoy working in a fast-paced, varied environment
* A good team player
* Preferably, previous experience in a customer facing role but this is not essential provided you have the right attitude

* £12.40 per hour rising to £14.10 per hour after 3 years

* Year 1: Basic Rate £12.40; £15.50 (Unsocial Hours); £18.60 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 2: Basic Rate £12.80; £16.00 (Unsocial Hours); £19.20 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 3: Basic Rate £13.40; £16.75 (Unsocial Hours); £20.10 (Overtime/Sundays)
* Year 4: Basic Rate £14.10; £17.63 (Unsocial Hours); £21.15 (Overtime/Sundays)
