There's no legacy framework to unpick, no inherited processes to work around. You'll walk in, assess what's needed, and build the testing infrastructure from the ground up. Your tooling choices. Salary up to 65K equity Hybrid working with just one day a week in the office, Manchester or Sheffield 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus your birthday off Option to buy or sell up to 5 days holiday Pension matched up to 5% Free premium membership to the platform (worth £100 per month) First QA hire into a lean, senior engineering team, you'll own the function entirely, your tooling choices, your standards, your process Genuine autonomy from day one with no legacy framework to unpick or inherited processes to work around A product that sits at the centre of a fast-growing luxury eCommerce platform Key Skills Strong software QA experience, the majority focused on mobile iOS automation Fluent with XCUITest, accessibility identifier strategies, launch argument injection, Keychain seeding Experience with API contract testing, Pact, JSON Schema or equivalent eCommerce or retail background is a real plus Deep, multi-year hands-on Detox experience, you've diagnosed and patched grey-box synchronisation failures caused by custom native modules firing background timers, not just added workarounds You understand how Detox hooks into the iOS run loop to determine app idle state and know exactly what breaks that detection in React Native apps Fluent with XCUITest accessibility identifier strategies Hands-on GitHub Actions or Bitrise experience running iOS test suites in parallel across simulators Proven methodology for testing payment edge cases card declines, 3DS flows, capture failures and network timeouts, repeatably in CI Day to Day Architect and build automated test suites across iOS, Android, web and REST APIs from scratch Build and maintain payment testing infrastructure Stripe test mode, WireMock fixtures, parallel CI runners with guaranteed isolation between runs Configure and own the iOS CI pipeline end to end simulator versioning, concurrency failure modes, artifact collection Embed testability into the product process before features are built, not after Establish QA standards across the engineering team contract testing, flake quarantine policies, mock/stub/spy conventions Own the full bug lifecycle and drive automated test gating across every PR and release This role has a high technical bar.
