Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a 2 AA Rosette kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership and culinary skills. As a Junior Sous, you will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation and service.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking techniques.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth within the team.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in presentation and flavour.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Monitor food production processes to ensure quality control and adherence to recipes.
* Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of classical food preparation techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
