This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who shares our values to contribute their ideas, skills and enthusiasm to enhance the lives of young people in Norfolk, to explore and enjoy whatever gender identity feels right for them, to feel supported in this and to continue to develop, learn and grow in every way.
As a Gender Identity Practitioner, you will provide support through establishing trust and respect with trans, non-binary and gender-questioning young people. You will have a good understanding of the issues affecting trans, non-binary and gender questioning young people and will be able to act on your own initiative. You will identify the individual needs of the young people, providing one to one support or refer/signpost them to specialist support as appropriate.
You will take an active role in supporting and co-facilitating the Evolve groups for trans, non-binary and gender questioning young people through delivering positive activities based on the needs and wishes of the group and contributing to the development of the group.
The successful candidate will ideally have lived experience and will be able to demonstrate the following:
* experience of working with trans, non-binary and gender questioning young people
* qualification in youth work or counselling skills
* experience of developing positive activities and facilitating groups
* one to one and group work skills
* current knowledge of social issues, policy and practice, as they affect young trans, non-binary and gender questioning people
* excellent communication and listening skills
* MAP values and commitment to diversity and confidentiality
