We’re FuturLab, the award-winning game studio behind PowerWash Simulator, the Velocity series, Peaky Blinders Mastermind, and many more awesome games.
We are looking to hire a Technical Producer to oversee the work of our core and technical teams on PowerWash Simulator 2. The successful candidate will join the production team where they will create and track tasks and organise teams to ensure delivery of fixes and features for both base game and updates. They will be working with a big-picture view across the project and keep key stakeholders updated on progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management & Planning: Work closely with programmers, designers, and artists to define technical milestones, estimate resource, and prioritise work based on project needs.
* Sprint & Roadmap Coordination: Manage sprint cycles, track tasks, and ensure that the team stays aligned on goals and deadlines.
* Technical Pipeline Optimization: Oversee and facilitate improvements to development pipelines, build processes, and tooling.
* Cross-Team Communication: Act as the bridge between engineering and creative teams, ensuring clear expectations and documentation for technical features.
* Risk Assessment & Problem Solving: Identify technical risks early and work with teams to mitigate potential roadblocks before they become issues.
* Team Capacity & Resource Management: Monitor team bandwidth, identify skill gaps, and collaborate with leadership to ensure the right people are in place to meet project demands.
* QA & Build Management Support: Ensure smooth build deployments, coordinate with QA, and help maintain game stability throughout development.
* Live Ops & Post-Launch Support: Work with the team to plan patches, updates, and ongoing technical support for PWS2.
* Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular updates on technical progress, challenges, and potential improvements to leadership and team members.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Running standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives with the PWS2 tech and FuturLab’s Core Tech teams.
* Collaborating with tech leads and the Senior Producer to ensure realistic development timelines.
* Managing Jira to track progress and adjust priorities on tasks based on the needs of the project.
* Communicating with designers and artists about technical constraints and solutions.
* Coordinating with QA to ensure builds are functional and issues are logged properly, then triaging them appropriately
* Reviewing and refining development workflows for efficiency.
* Helping prioritize and manage tech debt while keeping production moving forward.
* Working with external partners or middleware providers if necessary.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Technical Producer, Technical Project Manager, or similar role in the games industry.
* Experience shipping multiplatform games (PC, console, mobile) with an understanding of platform-specific requirements.
* Demonstrated success managing live service operations, including content updates, patches, and post-launch support.
* Strong technical knowledge of game development pipelines, including programming, art, and QA processes.
* Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello) and production tracking.
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, art, design, QA) to align on technical and production goals.
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Desirable Experience
* Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and build pipelines.
* Hands-on experience with Unity
* Familiarity with backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure relevant to live service games (e.g., AWS, Azure, PlayFab, or similar).
* Experience working with external partners or third-party service providers.
* Experience with DevOps practices or release management.
* Familiarity with data analytics and telemetry to inform production decisions.
