Henbrandt is an established importer and supplier to the wholesale and retail trade with offices in Ipswich and Cardiff. We offer an ever-growing range of pocket money toys, novelties, party decorations, and fancy-dress outfits and accessories.
As part of this process, we are currently seeking a detail oriented Quality Controller to join our team in Ipswich. In this role, the new team member will work both in office and within our warehouse to support the day-to-day operation of the supply chain, and they will take on crucial responsibility within the team, ensuring the rigorous standard of product quality on which Henbrandt prides itself.
The role requires a substantial amount of time to be spent in our warehouse handling stock and manoeuvring boxes, so the successful candidate must be physically fit and able to handle boxes weighing up to 23kg. The warehouse environment will vary heavily depending on the time of year but all relevant PPE will be provided and we take great pride in our health and safety record.
The role requires a keen attention to detail, critical thinking, numerical and mathematical competency, and strong communication skills. As part of this role you will be communicating with our suppliers as well as your colleagues and stakeholders throughout the business.
The role is 09:00 17:00 Monday-Friday for an 8-hour working day, with an hour for lunch included. There is no mandatory overtime and no weekend work. Henbrandt is a strong company which has been trading for over 50 years, and this is a permanent role within an organisation with a strong track record for health and safety.
There is on-site parking available, and there is a bus stop directly outside the business.
Responsibilities will include:
Checking over all outgoing and incoming digital artwork to ensure it has accurate information and is free of mistakes.
Verifying products are correct prior to shipment and investigating why/how when they arent.
Physically inspecting products once they have arrived within the warehouse.
Handling boxes that weigh up to 23kg.
Inputting and tracking of all data related to quality control process.
Assisting the supply chain with additional tasks when required.
Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our supply chain organisation by identifying scope for improvement within your role.
Calculating credit notes when issues are identified and contacting suppliers.
The ideal candidate will:
Be able to work effectively as part of a team and show they are comfortable following processes.
Be comfortable working both indoors in an office setting and outdoors in a warehouse in all weather.
Be physically fit and capable of working with boxes that weigh up to 23kg.
Have a strong work ethic and be able to work under their own initiative.
Be flexible when tasked to assist with overall supply chain needs.
Demonstrate keen attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving.
Possess 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including Maths and English Language.
