Overview
Job Summary: To provide a comprehensive service to support the work of the Associate Academic Registrars with a particular focus on Recognition of Prior (Experiential) Learning (RPEL) processes. A smaller element of the role will be to provide administrative support to the Associate Academic Registrars.
Responsibilities
* To support the work of the University Recognition Group (URG), specifically:
* Ensure that all information required to assess Recognition of Prior Learning is received from the central Admissions Team and Faculty colleagues in a timely way, keeping an accurate and complete record of applications.
* Schedule planned and ad hoc meetings.
* Collate all information required for consideration at the meetings and distribute to participants in a timely way.
* Liaise with School colleagues to ensure full and complete information is available to enable decision making at the university recognition group meetings.
* Take the minutes of the meeting and ensure that outcomes are recorded accurately, communicating the outcomes of the meetings to relevant parties.
* Provide information, reports and statistics as required.
* Undertake any other activity linked to the recognition of prior learning within LJMU for both home and collaborative partner programmes. This may include seeking additional information from applicants/partner colleges, validation of qualifications etc.
* Compile the annual RPEL report and present the report to the Academic Quality and Portfolio Committee.
* Review the RPEL policy on an annual basis and report to the Associate Academic Registrars if amendments are required.
* Provide a professional comprehensive administrative support service to the Associate Academic Registrars, complying with university administrative systems and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all undertakings.
* Provide cover in the wider team as and when required.
* Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* Any other duties, commensurate with the grade as deemed necessary by the Office of the Registrar.

The post-holder's mandatory Environmental Management responsibilities are contained in Section 2 of the University's Environmental Management Code of Practice (ECP1) Organisation for the Implementation of the Environmental Management and Sustainability Policy.
* For some of your activity, from time to time, you may be required to contribute to externally funded projects such as research or EU projects.
Person specification / Qualifications

* Higher Education level 5 qualification or a proven track record of Application / certificate broad substantial relevant experience demonstrating general knowledge of professional practice
* GCSE grades A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
* Experience of minute-taking
* Experience of providing high level administrative and operational support to staff in senior management roles
* Experience of dealing discretely with confidential and sensitive information
* IT competent with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office/Teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight deadlines
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Numeracy skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* A commitment to continuous improvement and a willingness to undertake further training if and when required
* Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to personal development and equal opportunities
* Desirable: Experience gained in Higher Education with regard to Recognition of Prior Learning in all its forms
