About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Health & Safety Manager
to lead on all aspects of workplace health, safety, and compliance across our operations. This is a key role ensuring that employees, contractors, and visitors work in a safe and compliant environment, while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems in line with legislation and best practice.
Review, monitor, and maintain risk assessments, method statements, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) across all departments.
Carry out audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with training, induction, and refresher requirements.
Provide professional advice and deliver Health & Safety training to staff at all levels.
Conduct site-specific risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and working conditions.
Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure fire safety compliance, including systems maintenance, training, and emergency preparedness.
Act as the main point of contact with external authorities such as the HSE and fire services.
Stay up to date with changes in Health & Safety legislation and implement relevant updates across the business.
Support wider business continuity and emergency planning, including first aid provision and crisis management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement).
Strong track record in Health & Safety management, including risk assessments, audits, and culture change.
Ability to design and deliver training programmes.
Knowledge of occupational H&S management systems and ISO standards (ISO 14001, 18001, 45001).
Excellent communication, influencing, and IT skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Environmental qualification or experience.
Industrial background.
Knowledge of Dangerous Goods, DSEAR, and PUWER.

Salary: £35,000
£55,000 (DOE).
