Brief Description:
As an Asset Protection Scheme Interface Manager, you will safely and seamlessly integrate externally funded projects into the railway environment, whilst minimising impacts on railway operations and infrastructure. You will leverage your knowledge of rail-related risks and constraints to facilitate solutions that align with client objectives and stakeholder requirements. Additionally, you will provide guidance to ensure adherence to Network Rail and industry standards.
About the role (External):
You will be involved in activities such as:
1. Developing and delivering solutions for high-value, politically sensitive, multi-disciplinary projects, managing risks affecting the operational railway.
2. Engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance and assurance processes, and overseeing project deliverables.
3. Clarifying operational interface requirements and devising solutions for early decision-making.
4. Collaborating with Construction Design Management (CDM) and other duty holders for project compliance with regulations.
5. Supporting resource allocation, project delivery, and progress communication.
6. Facilitating agreement on infrastructure change proposals and monitoring project risks and performance.
7. Reviewing lessons learned, developing mitigation strategies, and refining project proposals.
8. Building stakeholder relationships, managing expectations, and championing project interests.
9. Identifying opportunities to reduce asset and maintenance liabilities and resolving conflicting works.
10. Supporting cost recovery in accordance with legal agreements.
11. Providing support during incidents and sharing outcomes with client teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
* Membership or progression towards membership of the Association for Project Management.
* PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent certification.
* Knowledge of the operational railway and infrastructure.
* Experience in delivering railway projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to build relationships and share knowledge quickly.
* Constructive challenge, evaluation, and decision-making skills.
* Understanding of project commercial and programme controls.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, including CDM Regulations and CSM-RA.
* Experience with project budgets.
* Knowledge of GRIP processes.
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of investment, procurement, and commercial practices.
* Experience within Asset Protection.
* Understanding of rail infrastructure maintenance techniques.
* Knowledge of rail possessions and isolations.
