Job Overview
As a multi-skilled engineer, you will be joining a larger team of engineers working on well known, premium commercial sites in the Manchester area. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, small installation projects, servicing, and repairs, and also assist with general building maintenance when required. Working as part of the shift operations team and reporting to the M&E Manager, you will take a proactive role in maintaining the building's electrical assets at the site, including planned maintenance, compliance, and reactive requests. As the static electrician, you will be key to the effective and continuous availability of the Electrical Services associated with all buildings within our portfolio. You will provide support to the M&E Manager in maintaining and fault‑finding these assets, gaining an understanding of the building services to assist in system and plant fault identification and rectification. You will also carry out controlled and emergency switching of LV systems within the building as a competent person.
Responsibilities
* Service and repair of lighting and power distribution systems
* Reactive repairs to all types of lighting systems and power distribution systems
* Service and repair of motors and pumps
* Service and repair of fan coil units and associated systems
* Service and repair of HVAC control panels
* Service and repair of fire alarm systems
* Service and repair of the general fabric of the building (e.g., minor joinery, plumbing and exterior works)
The above list is not exhaustive but indicative of the main items of plant and equipment to be maintained.
Key Qualifications
* 18th Edition or Level 3 electrical installation
* JIB card, HVAP, LVAP or 2391 would be an advantage
* Knowledge of health and safety
