Secondary Teacher – Alternative Provision
Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
Salary: £160 - £200 daily rate (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Start date: September 2025
We’re looking for a passionate and committed Secondary Teacher to join an alternative provision setting in Halifax.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to young people who’ve struggled in mainstream education. You’ll be working with small groups of students, helping them re-engage with learning and supporting their personal development along the way.
About the role
You’ll teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, planning and delivering lessons that are engaging, practical, and tailored to meet the individual needs of our students. Many of our pupils have additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
You’ll work as part of a supportive team, with a strong focus on building relationships, managing behaviour positively, and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Holds QTS or equivalent
* Has experience teaching in an alternative provision, PRU, special school or similar setting (or a strong interest in working in this area)
* Understands the importance of patience, consistency and flexibility when working with vulnerable young people
* Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for every student

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
