Homeless Support Worker- Intensive Floating

Join a values-driven organisation delivering trauma-informed, person-centred support to young people aged 1625 experiencing homelessness. You will play a key role in helping individuals sustain tenancies, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes as they transition into independent living.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, and person-centred support tailored to the needs of each young person.
Provide flexible, intensive floating support within the community to promote independence and tenancy sustainment.
Manage a caseload independently, including planning your own diary and prioritising support effectively.
Support young people transitioning from supported accommodation into their own tenancies and local communities.
Utilise case management systems (e.g. SHARP) to review, monitor, and evaluate progress against outcomes.
Facilitate key work sessions, reviews, and multi-agency meetings in line with individual support plans.
Provide crisis intervention and responsive support as required.
Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to maximise opportunities and positive outcomes.
Support referrals, admissions, and discharges in line with local procedures.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with data protection, confidentiality, and organisational policies.
Promote tenancy management skills, including budgeting, bill management, and accessing local services.
Ensure health & safety standards are upheld through risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Contribute to service development, continuous improvement, and your own ongoing professional learning.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, trauma, mental health issues, or addiction.
Strong ability to build trusting, professional relationships and engage young people effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own caseload and diary independently.
Confidence in lone working and using initiative without close supervision.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs, including crisis situations.
Basic IT skills and ability to maintain clear, accurate records.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
Experience working with care-experienced or unaccompanied young people.
Knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centred, and wellbeing-focused approaches.
Understanding of tenancy sustainment and community integration.
Awareness of frameworks such as National Care Standards, SSSC Codes of Practice, and harm reduction approaches.
Experience of multi-agency partnership working.
Qualifications:
HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6/7) is desirable.
A willingness and ability to work towards this qualification is essential.
Additional Information:
This role is primarily community-based, supporting young people across Falkirk and surrounding areas. Travel is required, with mileage paid at £0.45 per mile.
