Location: Broadstone, Poole Days & Hours: Bank Hours initially to cover staff absences, then moving to Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave (end of August 2025 for up to 1 year). Fixed term hours will be an average of 15 hours per week, 10.00pm - 8.00am, one week to cover Thursday and the following week to cover Friday and Saturday on a 2 week rolling rota. Additional hours will be available during the school holidays. Bank position to resume after fixed term contract expires. Pay: £16.00 per hour Weekday nights and £18.00 per hour Weekend nights Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work) and to meet Lucas at required destinations, mileage will be paid. Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), manual Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend trainings Essential: Complex medical needs and supporting a child through waking nights and eligibilityto work in the UK. Desirable: Experience working with children with visual impairment and epilepsy Pets: 1 cat Accommodation (while on duty): Family home which will be extended to afford the client his own accommodationwith separate Support Worker's entrance and kitchen facilities Interviews Week Commencing: Interviews will happen on a rolling basis when applications are received and could be held by video calling. Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks) We are seeking a waking night support worker for a fun-loving young boy, Lucas, who was born in 2013, he has a cheeky sense of humour and a lovely smile. He likes being read a Julia Donaldson story. He likes listening to Little Mix and watching episodes of Friends or The Big Bang Theory and likes to watch Netflix on his I-Pad before bedtime. Lucas lives at home with his parents and older sister, with extended family living very nearby who all have an input to his care requirements and whom are very important to him. Lucas has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, moderate to severe learning disabilities and is registered blind. He is able to communicate his needs despite his visual impairment and being non-verbal. You will be joining a small care team where you will be taking direction from the family and Case Manager to ensure Lucas receives all the care he needs. To include supporting Lucas throughout the night and getting him ready for school in the morning, along with assisting him onto the school bus. You will be required to monitor him and settle him during the night, administer medication and provide all aspects of personal care. Checking his oxygen during the night are very important and his airways must be kept clear but encouraged to self-manage secretions. Managing his feeding and hydration regime and re-positioningduring the night. Lucas likes a calm environment. The additional hours during the school holidays would be to engage with Lucas to access the wider community. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.
