Ensuring safety of engineering design for mechanical systems at a niche aviation engineering innovator in Uxbridge, West London, where you will be literally saving lives! This family-owned firm designs and manufactures specific safety systems for aerospace clients and is renowned for first-class products & services. You will be part of a top-gun team working with the brightest and best British engineers.
Your role:
The Mechanical Safety Engineer will work within the Product Safety department at the Uxbridge site, responsible for ensuring the safety of aerospace product portfolios through investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvements of designs and processes.
This involves generating design concepts aligned with regulatory and customer requirements, producing design definition information including 3D models, detailed and assembly drawings, and supporting the development with technical calculations, design reviews, and stakeholder consultations. Mentoring junior personnel may also be part of the role.

Qualifications:
* IMechE accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree, Aerospace Engineering Degree, or equivalent
* 1st or 2.1 from Russell Group/Redbrick University (desirable)
* Experience in generating requirements, technical evaluations, and trade studies
* Proficiency in hand calculations and finite element software
* Knowledge of GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standards
* Experience in design for assembly and manufacture, ideally in aerospace/defence (e.g., ISO 15288)
