Southfields Veterinary Specialists are seeking to recruit a full-time Radiographer, or Registered Veterinary Nurse trained in advanced imaging acquisition, to join the Diagnostic Imaging Department of our newly built, state-of-the-art specialist veterinary hospital in Essex.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly advanced imaging environment, delivering exceptional diagnostic services with a particular focus on MRI, CT and radiography.

We are extremely proud of our purpose-built diagnostic imaging suite, which includes:

* High-field Siemens Magnetom Sola MRI scanner (1.5 Tesla)
* Siemens Somatom CT scanner (64-slice configuration)
* Two X-ray rooms, including digital radiography and fluoroscopy
* Mobile X-ray machine
* Fluoroscopy C-Arm for contrast studies and interventional procedures
* Two dedicated ultrasound rooms
* Portable ultrasound machine for critical patients
* Video endoscopy suite
* Cardiology room with Vivid E95 ultrasound machine
* Imaging reading room
* Dedicated patient preparation and recovery areas

You will work alongside a highly experienced and supportive imaging team comprising:

* Three EBVS European Specialists in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
* Two experienced Diagnostic Imaging clinicians
* Four Diagnostic Imaging nurses
* A Diagnostic Imaging patient care assistant

Key Responsibilities

* Acquisition of MRI, CT and radiographic studies
* Day-to-day operation and care of advanced imaging equipment
* Ensuring compliance with radiation protection and MRI health & safety regulations
* Supporting maintenance and quality assurance of imaging machinery
* Hands-on patient care, including patient positioning
* Participation in out-of-hours imaging duties, as required
* Working collaboratively with clinicians and wider hospital teams to support optimal patient care.

What We're Looking For

* A qualified Radiographer, or Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience or training in advanced imaging acquisition
* A strong interest in diagnostic imaging, particularly MRI, CT and radiography
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
* A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach
* A genuine love of animals and commitment to patient welfare
* Willingness to get involved with all aspects of providing a high-quality imaging service — full support and training will be provided where required
