Role Purpose
To provide flexible classroom and pupil support across primary (or secondary, if applicable) settings, ensuring pupils' learning, safety, and wellbeing are maintained during staff absence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering planned lessons and activities
* Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
* Assist with classroom management and behaviour in line with school policies
* Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where required
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
* Supervise pupils during lessons, transitions, and breaktimes
* Adapt quickly to different school settings, routines, and year groups
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff and provide feedback as required
Person Specification / Requirements
* Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
* A flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND
* EYFS, KS1, or KS2 experience
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3)
