Job Description The Vacancy Marlborough College is one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools, set within 286 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside.
We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused and proactive Electrician (Inspection & Testing) to join our highly respected Estates Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician to work within a diverse and historic estate, supporting a wide range of educational, residential, commercial and heritage buildings.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance and reliability of electrical systems across the campus.
Responsibilities
* Inspection and testing of new and existing electrical installations
* Producing accurate written reports, certificates and compliance documentation
* Supporting PAT testing across the College
* Fault finding and rectification work
* Responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance activities
* Installation of electrical services across teaching spaces, labs, offices, boarding houses and staff dwellings
* Maintenance and repair of kitchen and laundry equipment
* Assisting with fire alarms, intruder alarms, emergency lighting and access control systems
* Liaising with other trades and contributing to project delivery
* Participating in the emergency call-out rota
* Qualified Supervisor responsibilities in support of the College’s NICEIC registration
Qualifications
* City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation 18th Edition qualification
* Experience in inspection, testing, fault finding and electrical maintenance
* Strong awareness of workplace health & safety
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* A flexible, positive and proactive approach
* A full UK driving licence
* City & Guilds Inspection & Testing qualification (desirable)
* PAT Testing certification (desirable)
* Asbestos Awareness training (desirable)
* Experience working within estates, facilities, commercial or educational environments (desirable)
