Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) - Durham
£47,000 basic + overtime opportunities
12-hour shifts (3 days on, 3 nights on, followed by time off)
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs efficiently with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a high-quality, professional multi-skilled (electro-mechanical) engineering service
* Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance on production lines and site equipment
* Ensure machinery operates to required performance, quality, and safety standards
* Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and restore line availability quickly
* Communicate effectively with Engineering and Production teams regarding downtime and issues
* Support and execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
* Accurately record maintenance activities and resolutions in shift logs
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring equipment is production-ready
* Work collaboratively with Production and Quality teams
* Assist in training operators to improve machine setting and performance
What We’re Looking For
* Multi-skilled engineer with electrical and mechanical experience
* Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
* Willingness to work 12-hour day and night shifts
