Job description:
We have a temporary vacancy for a Quality Control Technician to work at our Tipton-based site. working Monday – Thursday – 15.00 – 01.00am and 14.00pm – 9.00pm Friday. There may also be a possibility this role goes permanent.
The person:
Ideally, you should have a food-related qualification or experience working in or understanding a quality control system operational within a food manufacturing plant. You should have excellent English language and numeracy skills for a high standard of internal and external communication.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure CCP compliance
* Ensure the business complies with all relevant Halal, Kosher, Organic procedures relevant to the site.
* To ensure all products manufactured are safe, legal and of high quality levels
* You will support the business preparation for all customer and 3rd party audits
* Quality control checks online to ensure compliance with specifications
* Create on pallet and case labels
* Management of non-conformances and implementation of corrective action
* You will monitor the product rotation and date coding procedures in all areas
* Collect microbiological samples for environmental and product analysis
* Verify compliance with QA programs such as SSOP's, HACCP's, GMP's, specification verification, chemical testing, allergen control, traceability, packaging, etc.

* Apply appropriate techniques to seek consensus through internal/external consultation to establish a "win-win" scenario when feasible has an awareness of implications of concessions in dealing with mainly senior levels of business relationships
* Develop a wide range of well-established relationships, both internal and external (including specialist contacts), utilising these relationships to achieve positive business outcomes
* You should be able to demonstrate a sensitive awareness of potential problems with an enthusiasm for inviting other views from all areas of the business.
* You will use a range of modern techniques to identify a range of options and the most favourable approach to problem resolution, consider contingencies, and plan ways to avoid negative business impact.
* You will regularly monitor and measure performance to identify positive and negative performance and behaviours.
* This is not an exhaustive list, and other duties may be assigned on an as-and-when basis in line with business requirements.
