A fast-growing AIM-listed professional services group has recently acquired a successful regional IFA business as part of its strategy to build a national, integrated wealth management brand. With strong backing, a clear strategic mandate, and an ambitious growth plan, we are now seeking an aspirational Managing Director to lead the next phase of development.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high-potential advisory business and drive its transformation from a respected regional player into a recognised national name in financial advice.
The Opportunity
As Managing Director, you will take full P&L and strategic responsibility for the IFA business, working closely with the Group Board to define and deliver a five-year growth plan.
Your focus will be on scaling the advisory team, professionalising infrastructure, and embedding a client-first, high-performance culture aligned with the wider group’s multidisciplinary proposition.
You will:
* Set and execute the growth strategy, targeting a tripling of the advisory team over the next five years.
* Lead and inspire a team of Chartered Financial Planners, ensuring excellence in advice, compliance, and client experience.
* Integrate the business effectively into the group ecosystem, aligning with legal, tax, and fiduciary service lines to deliver a joined-up client proposition.
* Drive profitability and operational efficiency, while maintaining the integrity and culture that made the firm successful.
* Represent the business at board level, shaping strategic direction and ensuring governance and regulatory excellence.
About You
You are an ambitious, commercially astute leader who combines strategic acumen with deep understanding of financial planning. You will likely be:
* A Chartered Financial Planner (or equivalent) with proven leadership experience at Director or Managing Director level.
* Experienced in scaling or transforming an IFA or wealth management business.
* Commercially minded, comfortable managing budgets, growth targets, and complex stakeholder relationships.
* Skilled at working within professional introducer networks (e.g. legal, accountancy, fiduciary).
* Passionate about building a trusted, client-led, high-performing advisory brand.
