As WMS/ WCS & Software Solutions Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing and supporting software-driven warehouse management systems (WMS/ WCS) within automated solutions.
You’ll collaborate across technical and commercial teams to deliver scalable, high-impact digital solutions that optimize material flow, fleet performance, and customer operations.
Liaising with sales colleagues to support on large scale project quotes, your input and skills are pivotal in a project’s success and delivery.
This role will be home-based & will require a high degree of autonomy and travel in the UK&I and occasional travel to EU for intercompany meetings. This will involve overstays from home as required during implementation phases and on-site meetings.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the configuration, deployment, and support of WMS platforms, utilising KION WMS/ WCS and related modules.
2. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and customer teams to define software requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
3. Integrate WMS with customer ERP systems and digital tools, ensuring seamless data exchange and operational visibility.
4. Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and support guides for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Support digital twin and simulation initiatives to visualise warehouse performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
6. Troubleshoot software issues and provide technical support during implementation and post-deployment phases.
7. Stay current with emerging technologies in intralogistics, automation and software integration. Be the product expert for WMS and software in UK&I.
8. Collaborate our intercompany teams to define and deliver improvements in our software and WMS offerings that allow us to lead by example.
9. Identify further opportunities to expand WMS and software with customers as an ongoing maintenance and review of site operations.
10. Accountable for delivery, implementation/execution of all software and WMS related elements for all projects.
11. Liaising with the Automation project manager, ensuring supplier costs are tracked, managed/monitored and time keeping is recorded through use of KION resource tracking tools.
12. Test and validate overall solutions and certify conformity of said solutions as part of remit/presentation to sales teams/customers.
13. Facilitate controlled demonstrations at the branded demo centres or on customer sites to promote and further push our technical offering.
14. Support on proof of concept (PoC) configuration of automated solutions involving WMS or software on customer operations.
15. Customer facing software SME, competent to present to customers overall solution (costs, deliverables etc).
Required Skills & Experience
16. Proven experience in WMS implementation, software integration or intralogistics automation.
17. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, fleet coordination, (mobile automation) as well „stationary automation“ (shuttle, stacker cranes etc.) and digital transformation.
18. Experience of Manual and Automated warehouse trucks.
19. Proficiency in software platforms such as SAP or similar logistics systems.
20. Familiarity with APIs, data mapping, and system architecture.
21. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
22. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
23. Experience in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
24. Experience in SQL (Structured Query Language)
25. Experience in - C# fullstack development, .Net, SQL Server, MySQL, PostGres or similar
26. Good commercial awareness and business acumen.
