Job Description
Hospital is a 500 bed Model 3 hospital providing acute unscheduled and scheduled care, together with services for Women and Children, for a population of over Apply in the North East area.
* Pharmacy services are provided to patients being treated in the following specialties: medical, surgical, orthopaedic, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics including neonatal intensive care, dermatology, oncology and haematology.
* The pharmacy team aim to ensure the safe, effective and economical use of medicines across a wide range of services including dispensary, procurement, clinical pharmacy and cancer services. Education, training and practice-based research are key parts of our service.
* The successful candidate will be working in a modern pharmacy department with the support of a large team of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Technicians. Service delivery is also supported by ward automated dispensing cabinets and electronic prescribing in specialist areas.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the delivery of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service. Including medicine reconciliation, patient education and working with the multi-disciplinary team to optimise patient care.
* Assist in the efficient running of the dispensary and supervising the operation of the dispensary, including procurement, patient education, storage, supply and the dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
