Salary/Benefits: Between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications; 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays; Teacher’s pension; Retail and Leisure Discounts; professional and personal development opportunities.

About The Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Pathways to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer, you will support student success through inclusive teaching and relevant, employability-focused learning experiences.
* Inclusive Teaching & Learning – Delivers tailored education to students with additional needs, preparing them for adulthood through programmes focused on employment, independence, health, and social inclusion.
* Curriculum & Quality Management – Designs schemes of work, develops engaging materials, assesses student progress, and contributes to curriculum development and course reviews aligned with funding priorities.
* Student Support & Vocational Opportunities – Monitors and records progress, prepares reports, and extends learning through employer links and vocational experiences, ensuring inclusive and safe learning environments.
* Team Collaboration & Administration – Works with tutors and support staff, participates in team meetings, manages student behaviour, and completes enrolments and registers.
* Compliance & Promotion – Upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety standards, engages in training and development, and supports college-wide promotional activities like open days and careers events.
About You
* Qualifications & Experience – Holds a relevant degree or Level 5 qualification, or is willing to work towards a teaching certificate; has recent experience teaching and assessing Entry Level and SEND learners.
* Specialist Knowledge & Skills – Demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge, inclusive teaching practices, and understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and awarding body standards, with digital literacy for creating engaging materials.
* Professional Attributes – Organised, proactive, and flexible, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and team goals.
* Values & Student Focus – Aligns with college values including inclusion, teamwork, and educational excellence; consistently creates a welcoming, supportive environment and promotes high-quality learning experiences.
* Compliance & Development – Committed to safeguarding, EDI, health and safety, and continuous professional development; willing to travel across college sites with a valid driving licence and vehicle access.
