Join us at Debit Card Fraud Strategy at Barclays, where you will be responsible for recommending and building controls to ensure the fraud strategy works as designed within our card products. You will analyze fraud data, complete root cause analyses on fraud cases to support your control recommendations, and communicate updates to a variety of stakeholders through regular risk and control forums.
To be successful in Debit Card Fraud Strategy, you should have experience with:
* Analytical proficiency with experience in previous analytical roles or with a numerate/analytical qualification
* Ability to absorb large quantities of data and information, whether detailed cases or strategic changes, identifying, understanding, and assessing key information
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate issues and recommendations to a varied stakeholder audience
Some other highly valued skills may include:
* Data-driven with SAS experience to utilize Barclays Data Warehouse for producing meaningful MI and narratives on fraud trends and losses
* Experience in developing and executing Fraud Strategies, including knowledge of current trends impacting card fraud
* Ability to challenge assumptions, beliefs, and biases to support the launch of cutting-edge technology for fraud prevention and detection
* Understanding of policy changes' impact on large customer bases to assess complexity for the company, colleagues, and customers
* Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills to communicate fraud loss drivers and the benefits of changes, both local and strategic
This role will be based out of Northampton or Canary Wharf.
Purpose of the role
To support the Risk Function in safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.
Accountabilities
* Developing strategic direction for risk, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes
* Managing the risk department, overseeing risk colleagues, their performance, and the implementation of risk priorities and objectives
* Managing relationships with risk stakeholders and maintaining the quality of external third-party services
* Ensuring adherence to the Risk policy, standards, and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment
