Project Engineer – DP World
Location: London Gateway Port, Stanford le Hope – Essex
Contract: 2 year Fixed‑Term Contract
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer on a 2 year FTC to be based from our London Gateway Port in Stanford le Hope – Essex. This role provides technical and administrative assistance to engineering and project management teams to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day support for new equipment deliveries, contractor management, system testing, diagnostic support for various engineering teams and any technical or administrative support deemed required.
* Support stakeholder engagement among the Port Engineering, Operations and IT teams by developing structured collaboration sessions where issues can be raised, tracked, resolved and reported.
* Support Managers and Team Leaders in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities.
* Assist in tracking project milestones, deliverables, and progress against deadlines.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, progress reports, and change requests.
* Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
* Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
* Assist with technical data gathering, analysis, and reporting for ongoing projects.
* Support engineering teams with drafting basic technical documents, drawings, and diagrams under supervision.
* Conduct research on materials, equipment, or technical solutions as requested by members of the Engineering team.
* Help maintain engineering databases (EAMS), drawings, and technical records.
* Provide troubleshooting assistance for engineering tools, software, and basic site technical queries.
* Prepare presentations, reports, and support development of dashboards for engineering management.
* Manage project correspondence, filing systems, and version control for documents.
* Assist in budget tracking, cost reporting, and procurement requests for engineering projects.
* Organise and schedule meetings, workshops, and training sessions for the engineering department.
* Liaise between engineering management and other departments to ensure smooth information flow.
* Ensure project documentation complies with internal standards and industry regulations.
Key Skills
* Minimum requirement: Degree level or equivalent.
* HSE awareness.
* Project Management experience.
* Be able to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Demonstrable ability to work within a team and liaise effectively with third parties.
* Demonstrate ability to manage multi‑disciplinary contractors.
* Organised and structured approach.
* Ability to respond quickly to incidents and urgent requests.
* Work effectively under pressure.
* Good communication skills.
