About Us

Dunblane Kids Club is a non-profit out of school club based on the grounds of Dunblane Primary School. We provide before and after school and holiday care for up to school aged children.

Our aim is to provide high quality out of school care, and comprehensive, reliable childcare that meets the needs of the local community. We aim to supply a wide variety of fun-filled, creative and stimulating child-centred activities within a safe and healthy environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about childcare and enjoys creating a positive environment where children and staff can thrive.

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting a dedicated team with the provision of a safe and nurturing environment where children and young people feel valued, supported, and able to reach their full potential. You will ensure the club runs smoothly while continuing to develop and improve the service we provide to families in our community.

As Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the club.

• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging environment for all children and staff.

• Reporting on children's progress; supporting staff in planning, assessment and observation practices.

• Supervising children within and out with the club.

• Leading, motivating, and supporting the staff team.

• Overseeing staff supervision, training needs, rotas, and staffing levels.

• Managing day-to-day communications with parents and carers.

• Supporting with the enrolments, registration updates and club administration.

• Promoting and having a good knowledge of regulatory frameworks, national guidance, and best practice in early learning and childcare.

• Contributing to organisational efficiency and continuous improvement across the service.

Hours and Salary

This is a permanent full-time role, working 35 hours per week.

Monday to Friday varied shifts between - 7.45am to 6.00pm.

Rate of Pay - £19 per hour.

We are looking for someone who is:

• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with children, families and staff.

• Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a small team and busy club environment.

• Passionate about childcare and creating a fun and safe environment for children.

• Knowledgeable of current local and national curriculum guidance relevant to early learning and childcare, including GIRFEC, Child Protection and Inclusion, Knowledge of child development and planning and assessment processes to support children's learning and development and awareness of health and safety requirements and an ability to undertake risk assessments are essential.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

This individual should hold an SCQF Level 9 or equivalent in Childhood Practice or relevant to the qualification requirements outlined by the SSSC.

Experience

Management/Supervisory or experience within a lead role of at least 1 year is mandatory, and childcare experience of at least 3 years with school aged children.

Two references and a PVG are subject to this position being offered.
