Description:
The Building Resilient Communities Shared Prosperity Funded programme aims to deliver the Council’s Community Operating Model by working closely with various partnerships, including Town and Community Councils, Integrated Wellbeing Networks, Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, Torfaen CA, and others.
The programme focuses on developing a model for enabling and empowering communities, making them more self-sufficient and reducing the impact on statutory and council services.
We seek a resourceful, self-motivated individual eager to make a difference in Torfaen. The ideal candidate will be approachable, understanding community needs, passionate, and driven to create change.
The role involves supporting communities to support themselves by working with local groups and the public to analyze assets and maximize benefits for the community.
You will develop networks that enable stakeholders to collaborate, share intelligence, and develop initiatives that leverage resources for community benefit.
The post involves working with the wider team to drive positive change and build resilience within Torfaen.

Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
* Relevant further/higher educational qualification or 2 years of comparable work experience.
* Proven experience working with communities in a development role.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* At least 2 years of successfully delivering community projects, including reporting on targets.
* Experience engaging communities and strengthening community hubs.
* Ability to analyze information, make decisions, and prioritize calmly under pressure.
* Ability to maintain records, analyze data, and produce reports for senior management.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
* Ability to travel around the borough efficiently.
