Job Title: Reading Program/Instructional Teacher Assistant - TEMPORARY Reports to: English Division Head Terms and Conditions: August 20, 2026 - September 30, 2026, 7:30 am - 3:15 pm FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Rate of Pay: $22.61 per hour, this is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits. OPRF – WHO WE ARE… Oak Park and River Forest High School, or OPRF, is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, IL, a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 103 clubs and activities, and 34 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 96% graduation rate. Oak Park and River Forest are communities that highly value diversity. Help establish and manage student learning in a safe, positive and respectful learning environment. Support lead teachers in implementing instruction that addresses the needs of students in a manner that promotes improvements in the level of reading proficiency of each student. Provide student academic and behavioral support within the classroom. Participate in all student activities associated with student learning within the classroom. Communicate regularly with students, parents and case managers regarding student progress. Coordinate daily schedule in collaboration with the lead teacher(s). Support the lead teacher in assessing and supporting student progress. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through reflection and collaboration. Participate in regularly scheduled professional development as assigned. Exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
