JOB SUMMARY
This position is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of various hot heading machines and maintaining a clean, well-organized work area. As a Shift Lead, the incumbent will act as a liaison between shift employees and Supervisors/Managers, communicating problems and questions as they arise during their shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Operate heading machinery safely and productively.
2. Ensure that quality standards, inspections, and counts meet job requirements.
3. Utilize SAP and MII software to monitor proper workflow of production orders in the department.
4. Record use of consumable tools.
5. Advise and recommend workforce placement to appropriate machinery. Facilitate logical work assignments for operators and setup personnel on available machinery.
6. Act as a liaison between shift employees and supervisors or managers, communicating problems and questions as they arise.
7. Be responsible for productivity and performance standards of assigned departments.
8. Ensure safety precautions are observed at all times, including the use of safety glasses, shoes, ear protection (if applicable), and machine guards.

Manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Ability to position oneself to move, install/remove, adjust, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
