About the Role
Reporting to the Service Team Leader, you will play a key part in delivering a professional, accurate and compliant Plan Finance service for the Royal Mail Collective Pension Plan. You’ll be a team player with strong finance capability, able to work flexibly to meet deadlines and service levels.
You will also be responsible for:
• Daily BACS payments reconciliation, including manual payments and receipts in the accounting ledger
• Daily monitoring and reconciliation of bank accounts, plus monthly monitoring of the funding position
• Pension contributions monitoring, recording and analysis
• Monthly financial reporting with balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of queries
• Delivering work to agreed service and quality standards in line with Plan rules and HRS service specifications
• Supporting continuous improvement activities to maintain our PASA Gold Standard
• Taking ownership of your professional development and keeping technical knowledge up to date
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, clients, stakeholders and colleagues
About You
You’ll be an experienced finance professional who brings:
• Education to at least A level standard, with strong GCSE English and Maths (grades C–A*)
• A willingness to study for a finance qualification (at least AAT Level 2, ideally progressing to Level 3)
• At least 2 years’ accounting experience, including payments and receipts processing and general ledger work
• Knowledge of internet banking systems and payments, including overseas transactions
