We have a full-time Level 1, B5 registered Social Worker position available in the Older Persons/Physical Disability teams in East Staffordshire.
Our service supports Staffordshire residents over 18 with physical disabilities and older adults over 65 with physical and mental health disabilities. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for those starting their social work career, offering diverse experiences within a dynamic and supportive team. You will receive comprehensive support to develop your skills and complete your ASYE. The team provides opportunities to work in areas such as safeguarding, substance misuse, and supporting adults with dementia and/or physical disabilities.
We seek individuals to join our planned care community teams, working alongside colleagues within our broader care group. A solid understanding of available services and community resources to support and promote independence at home is essential. The post holder must be a registered Social Worker or in their final year of Social Work training, responsible for conducting statutory assessments under the Care Act 2014, mental capacity assessments, and making best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2022. The role involves performing assessments, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding inquiries for vulnerable adults, utilizing a strengths-based approach and focusing on developing community-based assets.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications and Training
* Professional Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA, or equivalent foreign qualification)
* Current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Training to achieve ASYE
* Good IT skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, PowerPoint)
* Understanding of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
Experience
* Experience working with adults and older adults with mental health needs and carers
* Experience in other user groups/settings (Children and Families, Learning Disability, Mental Health)
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
