Overview
An exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Trainee Assistant Physiologist within the Clinical Measurement Department at the Royal Derby Hospital, with responsibilities across the cardio-respiratory department at QHB. The post involves performing routine diagnostic investigations; upon qualification, you will perform a range of standard diagnostic clinical measurement investigations from various departmental sections. The role includes rotation to our sister site at Queens Hospital Burton and Sir Robert Peel CDC and may require coverage at Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and Ilkeston Community Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Record Electrocardiographs (ECGs) on inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
* As competency progresses, develop skills to perform and assist with other tests carried out within the department.
* Work across Royal Derby Hospital main site and CDCs, with rotation to other sites as required.
* Study towards the Certificate in Electrocardiography to attain competency in ECG recording and basic interpretation.
Qualifications and Expectations
* This is a trainee/first-line position and not yet qualified as an Assistant Physiologist.
* Enthusiastic, well-motivated individual with an interest in Cardiology and Respiratory diagnostic tests.
