The Role
The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. Working under the guidance of qualified teachers, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and looking to gain valuable experience within education, particularly those considering a future career in teaching or educational support.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide classroom support, including:
o Assisting with lesson planning and delivery
o Supporting individual pupils and small groups, particularly those with additional needs
o Preparing learning resources, classroom displays, and teaching materials
* Encourage positive behaviour and promote social interaction
* Support pupils with reading, writing, numeracy, and other foundational skills
* Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime duties, as required
* Assist with general administrative tasks, such as photocopying, filing, and record-keeping
* Support pupils’ social development and model positive behaviour
* Provide general welfare and pastoral support, including basic first aid (training will be provided)

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* A genuine interest in working with children and young people
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent)
* Willingness to receive feedback and engage in training and professional development
* A patient, empathetic approach and a positive attitude
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience working with children, whether paid or voluntary (e.g. nursery, after-school clubs, youth work)
* An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
