Overview
We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents. The organisation also provides specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. Plus, we provide urgent and emergency care services to an estimated 18 million people who visit the seaside resort each year. We employ over 7000 people from 68 different countries. The post holder will work predominately at Clifton Hospital where there is a strong focus on multi-disciplinary teamwork. The post holder will receive leadership support from the Divisional Team.
Responsibilities
 1. Support the progression of patient pathways in line with the Clifton Transformation Model.
 2. Provide medical review to include assessment and management of the deteriorating patient.
 3. Participate in regular MDT board rounds to review patient care and progress towards discharge.
 4. To support the screening / review of referred patients from varying clinical services including repatriations from external Trusts.
 5. The post holder will be required to maintain their knowledge and skills with utilisation of relevant e-portfolio. Study leave provision will be available.
 6. To participate in training of advanced clinical practitioners and medical undergraduates.
 7. To contribute towards mortality review processes, clinical audit and clinical governance & educational meetings.
 8. The successful candidate will form part of the weekend on-call rota (combination of resident and non-resident) with other speciality doctors. Prospective cover will be required at times to meet the needs of the service.
 9. The post holder will share with colleagues and other intermediate level staff in dictation of documentation in respect of patients, where appropriate, in addition to general administrative duties as part of their role.

The post holder will work predominately at Clifton Hospital where there is a strong focus on multi-disciplinary teamwork. The post holder will receive leadership support from the Divisional Team and will deliver a wide range of clinical care in managing patients in a community hospital setting. There is also a requirement of weekend on-call provision.

This is an annual registration fee of £16. By registering for the update service you will not have the additional cost of repeated disclosures. Should you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check. DBS checks remain free of charge for volunteer positions.
