Assembly Technician
Occasionally, some overtime may be available.
Location: Milton Keynes
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), 6-month contract to cover a leave of absence.
Certain Advantage is working on behalf of a global manufacturing company. They are actively seeking an Assembly Technician with knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Systems.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of and experience in both mechanical and electrical systems.
* Battery assembly and testing experience is preferred but not required.
* Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions.
* Experience with both hand tools and machinery.
* Usage of testing equipment such as volt meters is preferred.
* Ability to follow build and test work instructions.
* Ability to work on ad-hoc technical tasks.
* Ability to work well within a team as well as individually.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Mechanical and electrical assemblies.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace.
* Participating actively in continuous process improvements.
* Engaging in efforts to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
* Following H&S policies and reporting procedures.
* Participating in troubleshooting operations and engineering trials/builds to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Job Summary:
* Operating machines and production equipment independently, adhering to quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment, and providing instruction or coaching to others as needed.
* Following all standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke, and visual standards.
* Raising issues promptly to minimize cost and quality exposures.
* Performing quality inspections.
* Identifying and controlling non-conforming material.
Qualifications and Competencies:
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including implementing changes to meet operational needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Recognizing the value of diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
