Are you a nurturing and dedicated early years professional with experience in supporting children with special educational needs?
We are looking for a SEND Nursery Practitioner to join our inclusive and child-focused setting.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in the development of children aged 2-5 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, and sensory processing difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and tailored support to children with SEND
- Work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting individual development plans and EHCP targets
- Use structured routines, visual aids, and sensory strategies to support communication and engagement
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Contribute to planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS framework
About You:
- Experience working with children with additional needs, either in a nursery, school or care setting
- Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, speech and language delay, or other developmental needs
- A warm, calm, and patient approach with a genuine passion for inclusive early education
- Confident in working collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and families
Desirable:
- Experience using PECS, Makaton, or sensory play-based strategies
- Understanding of EHCP processes and developmental tracking
- First Aid and safeguarding training
