Job Title: Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator - Amazon Australia
We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting to the Regional WHS Manager. The role involves working with the WHS team to maintain high safety standards within our FC. The successful applicant will be trained in standard work procedures and tools used within the WHS function. You should be a strong communicator, value teamwork, be proactive about safety, and be able to serve as a role model while engaging professionally with the entire FC workforce.
Shift Details
This is an hourly role with rotating shift patterns:
* Front Half: Sunday to Wednesday, with day and night shifts.
* Back Half: Wednesday to Saturday, with day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify and report compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through inspections conducted daily, weekly, and monthly.
2. Facilitate incident investigation processes.
3. Maintain necessary documentation to comply with Amazon and local regulations.
4. Record safety incident information promptly in internal databases.
5. Conduct safety observations and audits.
6. Coach team members, including Area Managers, to fulfill safety responsibilities such as audits, rule adherence, and inspections.
7. Additional responsibilities may include fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety activities depending on the business unit and location.
8. Participate in process improvement initiatives and ensure actions are completed.
Qualifications
* At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office applications.
* Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or a Cert IV in Safety.
Work Hours
40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
