Cambridge Kinetics is growing fast, and we’re looking for an ambitious graduate software engineer who’s eager to learn and willing to make a visible impact from day one.
As a part of our growing front-end team, you’ll work closely with seasoned software engineers, gaining hands-on mentorship while owning real features of Kinabase—our flagship platform.
This role empowers you to drive both the look and functionality of our applications, ensuring that design vision and technical implementation are seamlessly aligned from day one. You’ll have real impact: influencing our design standards and branding, contributing creative solutions, and helping our start-up grow with user-centric excellence at its core.
What you'll do
Develop functionality across our products: working end-to-end across design, implementation and testing, and getting your code in the hands of users within days of completion.
Turn ideas into reality – translate interaction concepts and visual mock-ups into responsive, accessible web interfaces.
Build our design system – help create and evolve the reusable component library that powers Kinabase, our marketing site and client apps.
Prototype, iterate, polish – experiment with animations, layouts and micro-interactions, balancing aesthetics with performance and accessibility.
Collaborate and learn – pair with senior engineers, product managers and designers to shape road-maps and ship production-ready features.
Grow into a key voice – as Kinabase scales, you’ll influence our front-end standards, tooling and visual identity.
You’ll get to see your code in real customers’ hands, and receive continuous feedback and guidance to accelerate your development.
Who we're looking for
A creative problem-solver who thrives on combining visual design with strong front-end engineering skills. You’ll write clean, maintainable code and take ownership of how products look, feel and perform. We’re keen to see applications from graduates that want to be involved with an innovative, high-energy and thriving start-up business.
* Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
* Keen interest in UI/UX principles—accessibility, mobile-first design, performance optimisation.
* Proactive communicator who asks questions to clarify requirements and enjoys working in small, focused teams.
* Exposure to Tailwind, Bootstrap or other CSS frameworks.
* Experience with version control (Git), automated testing or CI pipelines.
* Knowledge of C#/ASP.NET Core, React Native, or mobile-app development.
* Basic understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and web security best practices.

As a senior member of our team you’ll influence everything from solution design through delivery and support.
Location
We’re based in StJohn’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge. Expect to be in the office four days a week and occasionally visit client sites.
