An established, well-respected timber manufacturer and distributor in Lancashire is looking to recruit an Internal Sales Executive to join their expanding commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with timber knowledge (or relevant merchant / manufacturing experience) who wants stability, progression and the chance to work across a broad, varied product range. The role is available due to internal promotion, demonstrating the upward mobility offered by this company. The Role You’ll be joining a busy internal sales office, handling a mix of inbound enquiries, account management and proactive outreach. The position focuses on supporting customers with machined and bespoke timber products — including door casings & linings, planed items, claddings, bespoke profiles and other value-added lines. The role is office-based, but for the right candidate there is flexibility to attend occasional customer visits. Key Responsibilities * Managing inbound enquiries from builders’ merchants, timber merchants, manufacturers and joinery firms * Preparing quotes, following up proactively, and converting opportunities * Maintaining and developing relationships with existing accounts * Supporting new business development through outbound contact where required * Liaising closely with production and external sales to ensure smooth order flow * Using internal IT/CRM systems daily — this role requires someone confident and capable with systems and data What We’re Looking For * Experience in timber products, builders’ merchants, or construction materials * Strong communication skills and the ability to discuss technical timber products confidently * IT-savvy and comfortable working with internal systems, CRM tools and digital workflows * Able to commute daily to an office near Preston, Lancashire * Proactive, organised, and commercially minded * Open to candidates from early-career internal sales through to experienced timber professionals Salary & Package * Attractive fixed salary depending on experience * Strong prospects for future progression into senior internal sales or external sales roles Candidates that meet the criteria, have relevant timber experience and are within commutable distance to Preston will be invited to discuss further
