Your new companyOne of the UK's leading contractors operating across a number of sectors including Infrastructure and BuildYour new roleWorking on a major project in Cambridge they are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their established project team. They are looking for someone with strong main contracting experience as well as experience of managing and controlling the commercial aspects of a variety of projects. Key duties:
* Full management of multiple high-value subcontract packages, including procurement, order placement, change assessment, payment processing, and final accounting, all in line with company policies and procedures.
* Conducting main contract valuations and pricing of client variations.
* Delivering accurate financial reporting both internally and externally, including end-of-life forecasts and liabilities.
* Supervising, supporting, and advising direct reports.
* Identifying opportunities to maximise value and reduce costs.
* Recognising risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies.
* Progression to a lead role on future projects valued between £20 million and £40 million.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience on projects exceeding £20 million, ideally within the education, commercial, or multi-unit residential sectors.
* Strong track record in package procurement and management across complex scopes and large values.
* Excellent knowledge of the local market, supply chain, and regional challenges.
* Proficiency in JCT and NEC contract forms.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Familiarity with second-stage tendering procedures and contract negotiations is advantageous.
