Air Liquide is searching for a dynamic, results‑driven Business Development Manager to join the team and help drive growth of our Specialty Gases across the UK. In this role you will act as a subject matter expert representing the commercial, quality, and safety strategies of Air Liquide with a strong collaboration with Cluster Countries, Specialty Gas Europe, Product Marketing and Inside Business Developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Development: Create and execute targeted commercial strategies aligned with our growth roadmaps; proactively source new business opportunities while nurturing our existing UK customer portfolio.
- Cross‑Market Expansion: Drive sales development of our Specialty Gases across all core market units, including Food & Pharma (F&P), Manufacturing & Process (M&P), and Energas (E&P).
- Data‑Driven Sales Management: Analyse sales figures and market data using Salesforce (SFDC) and Power BI to optimise action plans, maintain accurate forecasting, and manage budget action plans.
- Tender & Competitor Intelligence: Collaborate with NCE Cluster Tender Teams to deliver proposals, while monitoring competitor products, pricing, and organisational shifts.
- Relationship Building: Build privileged relationships with stakeholders such as Trade Associations, National Frameworks & OEMs.
- Events: Organise and lead expert roundtables, training sessions, and product demonstrations, representing the company at major industry exhibitions and events.
- Customer Experience: Deliver expert, responsive advice to ensure a seamless, simplified journey for our customers, fostering deep long‑term loyalty.
- Safety & Quality: Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and proactively act on critical situations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5years experience in a Business Development or Sales role dealing with technical products.
- Willingness to undertake national travel for on‑site visits as required.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A proactive and strategic approach to market growth.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
