About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Power Risk Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting risk engineering surveys at client facilities, analyzing loss prevention and mitigation features, and providing recommendations for improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct standard risk engineering surveys at client facilities, typically lasting 2-3 days, involving interviews with key management teams and site tours.
* Analyze loss prevention and mitigation features, describing site operations, ranking quality, and recommending improvements.
* Estimate property damage using bespoke modeling software.
* Carry out risk assessments of operational power plants and reviews of new projects.
* Support the Power Broking team in placing risks in international insurance markets.
* Manage and develop re: Engineering Management System.
Special Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a sound working knowledge of power industry technologies and construction management, as well as IT literacy, including general office systems such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Exposure to risk-assessed decision-making is essential, relevant to the field of expertise.
* Familiarity with technical simulation packages for process modeling, risk assessment, and project execution purposes, as relevant to the field of expertise.
* Enhanced written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate Profile:
* A minimum of 8 years' experience in Operations / Maintenance / Technical Functions in a Thermal / Hydro power plant.
* Experience in both Thermal and Hydro power plants is highly desirable.
* Academic Background: Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineer Degree is a must. Chartership will be advantageous.
* Combination of Europe / South America worldwide travel required (typically 70-90 days per year).
* Spanish/English fluent speaker.
