** Assistant Manager – Independent Café**

About Us:

We're Rickyard Cafe, a proudly independent café that's just celebrated our second year of serving great coffee, homemade food, and warm hospitality. Built on passion, personality, and community, we've grown into a local favorite – and now we're looking for an Assistant Manager to help us take the next step.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role ideal for someone who loves great service, thrives in a busy café environment, and wants to grow with a young, energetic business.

The Role:

As our Assistant Manager, you'll be right at the heart of café life – leading by example on the floor, supporting the team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You'll work closely with the owner and café manager and be trusted with real responsibility.

You'll also play a key part in shaping our **online presence**, helping us share our personality, food, and community vibe with the wider world.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Leading shifts and motivating the team during busy periods

* Delivering top-notch customer service with warmth and personality

* Supporting with staff training and development

* Assisting with stock control, ordering, and supplier management

* Maintaining cleanliness, presentation, and café standards

* Helping with staff scheduling, admin, and basic finance tasks

* **Creating and posting engaging content for our social media channels**

* Acting as the go-to person when the manager or owner is away

We're Looking For Someone Who:

* Has experience in a similar hospitality role.

*Barits experience is a bonus.

* Is friendly, approachable, and confident dealing with customers

* Can stay calm under pressure and thrives during a rush

* Has an eye for detail and pride in keeping things running smoothly

* Is happy to muck in wherever needed – from front-of-house to back prep

* Has a creative eye and understanding of social media (especially Instagram)

* Brings ideas, energy, and a genuine love for the café scene
